What to do with all my scraps………..

Papercrafting oh how I’ve missed you so!!!!  My new salon is up and running and things are settling into some kind of normalcy now.  Good thing too because Sale-A-Bration is almost over! I just about missed taking advantage of these sweet deals myself.   For those of you who don’t know, Sale-A-Bration is the best time of year at SU!.  For every $50 you spend, you get to choose a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Most are exclusive items that will be gone when the sale ends.  The paper this year is to die for!  Click here to check it out.  Place your order with me asap to get your freebies!  The sale ends on March 22!

I don’t know about you, but I can’t bear to throw out adorable paper.  I save even the smallest scraps thinking to myself, “I will use this for something.  It is just too darn cute to throw out!” but more often than not, my scraps collect and my craft cabinet starts to look like  kindling.  Well not anymore!  I am committed to using all my amazing scraps.  Here is project numero uno, cased from a card by fellow Demo Charlene.

Banners and scraps

The popularity and adorableness of banners creates a great opportunity for you to bust out your amazing scraps and put them to good use.  Just cut strips and use your 1″ square punch to create the tails and you will have your card finished in no time!

Another great way to make amazing cards in a hurry is to join Paper Pumpkin and get a kit sent right to your door every month.  A gorgeous red box will surprise you with instructions and all the great Stampin’ Up! products you’ll need to make a fabulous project.  Be sure to tell them I’m your demonstrator to get a free gift from me!

Now get busy making time for Stampin’!

Where have you been Busy Stamper?

I’m so sorry I have been MIA for so long! I told you I am busy! The holidays are the busiest time of year for me in the salon but for some crazy reason I thought it would be a great idea to move my salon to a new larger location right in the midst of it. I also got to go to the DC area to visit my folks for Thanksgiving, had a really sick kid, decided to take my role as Santa way too seriously and make a play market instead of buy one, and host Christmas Day at my house. My 55 Christmas cards barely made it out on the 23rd, handmade of course. Needless to say, my papercrafting had to get put on the back burner for a bit.
Boy do I feel cranky now! Paper crafting is my zen so it is good to be back. I think the Spring catalog is adorable enough to keep me out of the looney bin, but my goodies aren’t set to arrive for a few more days so I got out one of my tried and true sets to make some “Get Well” cards for everyone who has been sick.

Get wellI hope you are all healthy with all the nasty bugs going around!

A jar full of thanks…….

My life is so blessed by amazing people that do little things each day to make my life and others a little more special.  They don’t do it because it is the Thanksgiving season (although that is a good reason!) or to gain recognition, but because it is who they are.  The “good ones”.  The ones who hold doors, let you in into traffic, loan you things, offer to bring you lunch when you forgot yours, help you with a big workshop and run back and forth when you forgot supplies, forgive you when you are running late, and so many more small and simple things that make this crazy world a little better.  Every one of these things has happened to me in the last few days and I feel full of gratitude.

That being said, I have a never ending need for Thank You cards.  I love to make them.  I can count my blessings and think of the dear person and their act of kindness while I make it.  Here is one that I made with one of my favorite stamp sets.  I based it off one in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog.

I used the Perfectly Preserved clear mount set.  Don’t you love the mason jar!  I used the Boho Flowers Punch and an antique brad to create the 3D flower.   The Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper gave it the perfect fall feeling.

I hope you are as blessed as I am!
