Inspiration and perspiration……

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and again.  The most time consuming part of crafting is coming up with ideas.  If you can find great sources of inspiration, you can keep your creative juices flowing and put a handmade project together in no time, saving a lot of perspiration!

I love following great  blogs.  They are full of fun ideas.  I love for all things crafty, for lots of yummy recipes and gorgeous food photos (that help me with earthy color combos and make sure I’m not crafting on an empty stomach),  istamp by Nancy Riley  for SU ideas (she posts cards by lots of different SU artists), and Random Acts of Creativity to keep up with trends outside the Stampin’ Up! world.  Check them out for inspiration and to save yourself some perspiration in your crafty and homemaking pursuits.

I also love Pinterest and Splitcoast Stampers, but inspiration doesn’t have to be online.  It can be anywhere.  For today’s project, I took inspiration from a Birthday invite to a party my girlfriend was having for her daughter.  This was the invite to her adorable “Apple of Our Eye” themed 1st Birthday:

I had also seen all the cute decor ideas her Mama had been pinning lately, so I decided to keep with the theme when I wrapped her gift.  Hand stamped gift wrapping looks great and your host will love it because she picked the theme herself!

Here is what I came up with:

And this card I made at Janice Urke’s Thursday Night Stamp Club went with it perfectly!

Next time you are headed to a party, get your inspiration from the invitation!  I promise it will be a big hit!

Now get busy stampin’!
